Hi,

My name is Daniel and I have been working on my home automation for five years.

My cat Eckhart (full name is Eckenkacker). We used to call him the Professor because he was a very smart cat (compared to his siblings).

I created this blog as a way to share my progress and discoveries with people interested in smart home technology. If you are looking to add automations to your house without spending a ton of money on commercial smart devices, then you are in the right place. Check out the different topics I have written about to get started.

Over the years I have created lots of software and made them available for free. Most notably custom Home Assistant integrations like the entity-controller and Radio 433MHz Gateway. You can view all of them on the projects page.

I hope my blog helps you along in your own endeavors and I would be happy to receive your comment if you get stuck. Another way to stay in touch is by subscribing to the newsletter to be notified of new content!

As always, I encourage you to tinker and make your own discoveries by just trying things out. None of my own projects would have been possible without curiosity and a morbid fascination in automation and technology.

Cheers,

Daniel
